An outdoor inclinator in the coast of Indian Ocean? Yes! And this is one of the four inclinator (or so called inclined cable car) installations in Bali, Indonesia. All of these inclinators were installed by "Access Automation", a company from New Zealand which specializes inclinator and other inclined transportations. Usually, inclinators are found in private homes or hotels with steep slopes, linking between two section levels such as living room or hotel lobby. And of course, the installations are a lot expensive compared to small elevators. This inclinator is probably the first to be installed in Bali. It is located at Rock Bar, an outdoor bar located on a cliff heading to the Indian Ocean, located on the complex of the Ayana Resort. Ever since its opening in August 2010, it has since attract many customers due to its beautiful ocean and sunset view and it has often been a photograph spot for customers. This inclinator is always crowded during the evening as most people are about to see the sunset and even that, one can see the queuing line is very long (waiting for the car to arrive took 10 minutes)! As you can see, the car has a manual door and a comfortable leather-surface chair. The small control panel has only a green UP and DOWN buttons and a red STOP button. On each two floor stations there is always an attendant which open and close the car door and also "start" the car after closing the door with a small green button (you can see it next to the station door). The motor is located on the very top of the railing hoistway.
