Employment opportunities in Switzerland
Duration: 2:40
Prof. Simon Evenett, Director of the St.Gallen MBA, explains the diverse range of employment opportunities and benefits of a career in Switzerland that are open to St.Gallen MBA graduates. "Switzerland's economy has a diverse set of employers. We have not just banks, we have high-end pharmaceutical companies, we very high-tech manufacturing taking place here. In fact, the breadth of employers is much wider than many people might think especially if you are in an anglo-saxon country which has got a hollowed-out manufacturing base. You might be surprised what's on offer here in Switzerland. "St.Gallen MBAs benefit from a wide range of leading Swiss companies which come to recruit here. These include Hilti, ABB, Credit Suisse, Zurich Financial Services and the like. We have dozens of companies that come to the campus and we have been able to place dozens of our MBAs in positions in Switzerland and abroad. "Non-European students find the Swiss labour market particularly attractive. We have over 100 multi-national corporations' headquarters, or European headquarters, here mainly serving the European, Middle East or North Africa region. They offer a diversity of employment opportunities that you would find hard to match anywhere else in Europe. That's why many people are attracted to Switzerland from outside of Europe and that's why we continue to attract excellent candidates to the St.Gallen MBA."
